The Supernatural
"The Supernatural"...what can I say about it? It's a funny subject, because on the one hand, I feel like the unknown mysterious magic of the world we live in makes life worth living, and I get spooked by thoughts of monsters and mystical happenings on a daily basis, and on the other hand, I'm a logical materialist who doesn't *really* believe that any of that stuff actually exists--but I desperately want it to exist! For example, I've seen a "ghost," a local legendary one that others have seen of a girl on railroad tracks (and my husband saw it, too--actually, he saw a girl in a gown, and I just saw a weird moving pale blob), yet I still don't believe that it was actually a ghost. But how I wish it were true! I love the idea of living in a world of spirits and unpredictable powers and experiences. And so I make a lot of art about people searching for, or having, such experiences.
